In response to evolving business needs, the CRISP-DM methodology is to be updated. Learn more about this, or sign up to participate in the CRISP-DM Update, here. Members of the original consortium will be actively involved, but the initiative needs your involvement, too! Only with a broad-based effort will the updating of CRISP-DM techniques and processes meet the needs of all organizations involved in data mining today.

The following is a list of CRISP-DM use by practitioners, educators and data mining industry players. The list is not comprehensive. If you have other CRISP-DM use you would like to contribute, or you suggested additions to this list, please let us know.

Mention of CRISP-DM in publications and conferences:

CRISP-DM and the data mining process in general are discussed in Two Crows Corporation's "Introduction to Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Third Edition" 1999. Information on obtaining the booklet is available on the Two Crows web site.

CRISP-DM consortium member DaimlerChysler participated in the KDD-2000 KDD Process Standards Panel. Information on this page includes a panel chair presentation, panel chair position statement and a CRISP-DM position statement (same as the overiew page on this web site). The Conference prodeedings are available for purchase on this KDD-2000 site.

The Rudjer Boskovic Institute hosts a page called the "Data Mining Server" or DMS. Portions of this content are taken from CRISP-DM. See especially: http://dms.irb.hr/tutorial/dm_proces.php.

Article on CRISP-DM by Gregory Piatetsky-Shapiro, KDnuggets editor, written in 1999. Although an older article, it provides an interesting perspective on the SIG contribution to CRISP.

Vivek, a quarterly publication on artificial intelligence has published a description of CRISP-DM.

Rasch Measurement Transaction (RMT) is a quarterly publication of the Rasch Measurement SIG of the American Educational Research Organization, a "confluence of those on the quest for sound quantitative understanding of qualitative data." The Fall 2001 issue contains an article on CRISP-DM.
