Special Interest Group

An important step in developing the CRISP-DM standard was the particpation of the CRISP-DM Special Interest Group (SIG). SIG members included large-scale data mining users from a wide span of industries, as well as data mining tool vendors and service providers. SIG members have contributed to the design of the process model through participation in the SIG workshops listed at the bottom of this page. In addition to contributing to the standard, SIG members gained early access to the results of the project. By the completion of the project with the release of the CRISP-DM 1.0 Guide, over 300 organizations had contributed to the process model as SIG members.

Now that the CRISP-DM methodology is to be updated, the SIG will again hold regularly scheduled workshops and other events. Check this page to find information about those events.

You are encouraged to join the SIG. Signing up does not commit you any cost or specific activity, but being a member gives you the opportunity to participate in the CRISP-DM Update at a level that matches your expertise and commitment to data mining.
